Solutions for both HDPE and PET
HERMA has been specifically driving forward the development of suitable adhesive materials for the common plastic types HDPE and PET for many years. Today, HERMA is one of the few suppliers to offer certified solutions for both major plastic categories, PET and HDPE. These certifications are generally issued by RecyClass or Cyclos-HTP. With these adhesive materials, HERMA consistently combines recycling optimisation with practical suitability: the certified 72Hpw adhesive, for example, is comparable in price to standard adhesives. At the same time, the 72Hpw achieves very good results in terms of initial adhesion and subsequent wash-off behaviour – a property that is primarily attributable to its multi-layer structure. The certified materials are widely available in the net width range and can be supplied from stock. This allows many labelling solutions to be implemented quickly and flexibly – a real advantage for label printers and label users.

Why 72Hpw?
Recyclable label solutions - 72Hpw supports packaging concepts
- Cost-effective and recyclabl
- A tried-and-tested key component for certified wash-off adhesive materials
- Supports PET and HDPE recycling
- Ensures secure adhesion during use and clean removal during the recycling process
- Costs on a par with a conventional standard adhesive
- Numerous certifications in accordance with standard test protocols: RecyClass, Cyclos-HTP and Cetie
- Can be combined with many different label materials
- Wide range of applications, e.g. for: beverage packaging, cosmetic bottles, cleaning products, personal care items and much more
- Performance is based in particular on the multi-layer structure of the adhesive
The adhesive has been specially developed for label applications where residue-free separation of the label material is required in the recycling stream of PET and HDPE packaging. Furthermore, the transparent adhesive is also suitable for applications on glass and PP surfaces, offering good resistance to ageing, heat and light.
72Hpw is certified as recycling-compatible by the Cyclos-HTP Institute in various material combinations and meets the recycling requirements for PET (80 °C) and HDPE (40 °C).
Polypropylene (PP) films, when used in combination with 72Hpw, are classified by RecyClass as fully compatible with the rigid HDPE recycling stream.
